In September 2006, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed into law Assembly Bill 32: California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32). AB 32 requires that by 2020 the state's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions be reduced to 1990 levels.

To view recommendations on how the County can ensure its policies and programs will be periodically updated and how the benefits of the climate change policies and programs will be quantified click here.  An updated report will be submitted to the Board during the summer of 2011. 

In February 2009 the Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability released a comprehensive inventory of climate related policies, programs and activities taking place in the Los Angeles region. To view that report, click here.
