Welcome to Los Angeles County’s Energy Efficiency & Environmental Information website!
California has long been a national leader in establishing environmental initiatives to protect and conserve our natural resources. This includes programs for energy efficiency and water conservation, renewable resources, recycling and waste management, vehicle fuel efficiency, and environmentally sensitive planning and land use. Similarly, Los Angeles County has led the way with environmental policies in the areas of energy efficiency and sustainable operations.
We all face challenges in reducing greenhouse gases in the State. Assembly Bill 32 “California’s Global Warming Solutions Act” which was signed into law in late 2006 established ambitious goals for Los Angeles County. As a local government leader, we are meeting these challenges by enhancing our existing programs, developing new initiatives, implementing programs in County operations, and sharing the benefits with County residents.

On January 16, 2007, the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors approved the Countywide Energy and Environmental Policy.
ENERGY SAVINGS IDEAS
Saving energy and water translates to a positive environmental impact and reduction in utility bills. On December 15, 2009, County Chief Executive Officer William Fujioka sent a memo to every County Department outlining Energy Saving Ideas that can be implemented in all County departments.
The Internal Services Department will monitor each County Department’s progress towards energy and water savings goals. To view the current 2009 Department data click on the following links:
